Project summary:
3D Visualization of Building Services in Virtual Environment (BS-VE) is a research project that develops virtual reality techniques and applications for Finnish building industry. The project utilizes a virtual room, Experimental Virtual Environment (EVE), at Helsinki University of Technology. Earlier projects have produced techniques to present realistic 3D building models and air flow visualizations in EVE and methods to explore them.
This project aims to enhance the interaction possibilities in the virtual environment. Spatial audio together with virtual acoustics will be used to complete the realism. Also visualization of additional non-visual building services information will be researched and the transmission paths for different information types from their production environments to the visualization environment at EVE will be optimized.
