Project summary:
Background
The IFC Next Step -project targets for developing ifcXML support for Eurostep IFC Tools and development of an IFC model server product for comprehensive IFC-project model management in a shared construction project
environment. By delivering enabling technologies for the realisation of AEC software interoperability the IFC Next Step -project supports progressing to the next logical step of IFC implementations and their penetration into
practice.
Project Objectives
The objectives of the project are:
- Provision of ifcXML support for IFC implementations.
- Development IFC model server product.
With the above objectives the project aims to:

Extend the functionality of existing Eurostep IFC Tool products,
- Extend the Eurostep IFC Tool family with a new model server product; and more generally
- Contribute to moving the implementation and usage of IFCs to the next logical step and exchange
paradigm, i.e. using IFC model servers in shared construction project
