Project summary:

Halton HIT model based product data configuration software was launched in March 1997. The HIT system has been and will be pioneer software in the category of model based product data configurations. It was designed to be a simple product selection tool and an industry first this generation of product, is only a stand-alone software tool. The HIT database is partly implemented in Progman's MagiCAD software and utilizes the product models for document configuring.

Although considered an interesting tool it has been identified that further development is needed to integrate HIT and the Product Data better to customers' design practice and the tools they use. Effect on improving the easy of product data management, interoperability and logistics for all concerned: added value all rounds.

The development of a next generation in integrated products will require a detailed understanding of the customer's requirements and processes, current and future HVAC design tools, plus product data management in line with industry standards for data transfer (IFC standard).
