Project summary:

Project defines and implements an open interface based on standard technologies to connect constructors procurement system (ProcuMent) with project data bank services (Raksanet). Project also examines intersections with other systems and services. In addition a set of supporting electronic business features are implemented in existing systems.

Achieved results:

The definition of interface and the system and service properties will promote electronic trading within building industry and in its chain of sub-contractors.

Indirect impacts:

• Improves distribution, reception and usage of procurement information between parties.
• Improves management of procurement documentation (text documents, lists, images, product information).
• Improves management of trading information (additions and alterations) as well as conveying the information to the whole procurement chain.
• Enables data import from various databases (company registers, planning and cost control systems) for procurement use.
• Improves management of information on product and production lifecycles.

During the project one master’s thesis will be written.

Impact and added value of the technology programme:

VERA has enabled networking with other participants. The subsidised funding allows larger risk taking in the development work and sufficient scope for the research.
